Tale
Spanning four tumultuous decades during the Troubles in Northern Ireland
The real Dolours Price was married for two decades (1983-2003) to Irish actor Stephen Rea. During that time, Rea appeared in the film for which he is probably best known in the US: the 1992 romantic thriller The Crying Game.
A truly devastating story
In that film, Rea plays Fergus, an extremely reluctant and ambivalent member of the Irish Republican Army (IRA), the same organisation Price was involved with for many years. Probably the most heartbreaking piece of “entertainment” in the world.
I have only seen episode #6
The younger Price sisters are played incredibly well by 2 actresses I have never heard of (Lola Petticrew and Hazel Doupe). I hope to see them get more mainstream roles in the future.
The show could not have been better cast
Anthony Boyle also leapt off the screen in every scene he was in. I was only vaguely familiar with this story and I hadn’t read the book, so I can’t rate the accuracy of the show, but I can say that the dialogue is well written and the directors did a fantastic job.
I would definitely recommend watching this show
However, I wouldn’t suggest watching it in 1 day like I did because you will lose some sleep.
